Dr. Willard’s® is committed to helping working mothers stay healthy. These busy professionals deeply care about health, but have little time to incorporate new routines into their lifestyles. Who do they turn to to maintain their health? Dr. Willard’s®!
Women are busier than ever before; the United States Department of Labor states that 70 percent of women with children under the age of 18 are part of the labor force. While the right and opportunity to pursue professional aspirations are valued by women across the country, many of them feel overwhelmed from juggling personal and work-related responsibilities.
“Thirty-eight percent of mothers who worked full time, along with 25 percent of mothers who worked part time, said that it was “very difficult” to balance work and family, according to a survey from eMarketing, as reported by Business News Daily.
Working mothers often feel pulled in different directions; they may not able to attend their children’s school recitals or plays, or volunteer for school field trips. On the other hand, they have to call out sick more often than their colleagues without children, as they have to take care of their kids or go to doctors’ appointments.
One much-overlooked area in the struggle to maintain a successful professional and family life is taking care of oneself. An article in Today supports this idea, stating that “‘women often feel guilty about taking time for themselves’, says psychiatrist and Today contributor Dr. Gail Saltz. ‘There is some maternal ideal of being self-sacrificing that just isn’t consistent with having time for yourself,’ she said.”
The problem with disregarding oneself is that without taking time to exercise, eat right and do things that bring them comfort, women experience both mental and physical health problems. This results in high stress levels, anxiety, depression, weight gain, insomnia as well as a myriad of other health concerns.
Dr. Willard’s® is committed to helping working moms find the time to take care of themselves. In this article, we provide two useful tips on maintaining one’s health on the go.
Healthy Eating on the Go
Moms who work part of full-time usually do not have the time to have a proper breakfast at home, but that is no excuse to grab a sugar-laden doughnut or skip breakfast altogether. Instead, make yourself a delicious and healthy smoothie, which you can drink on the go. To save time peeling and slicing, prepare all the ingredients the night before, or simply buy pre-packaged frozen smoothie bags.
A common mistake newbies make when making smoothies is only including fruit or other sweet ingredients. To max up the health benefits, add greens to your drink, such as avocado, kale, spinach or chard.
Add protein to the smoothie with nuts, sunflower seeds, peanut butter or protein powder. Finally, add a small amount of Willard Water® to give your smoothie a boost! Dr. Willard’s® Signature Smoothie
- ¼ cup of strawberries
- ¼ cup of blueberries
- ¼ cup of kale
- ½ of avocado
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon of almonds
- ½ tablespoon of Dr. Willard’s Water® CLEAR Concentrate
- Wash and cut the fruits and vegetables.
- Add the other ingredients.
The good news about Willard Water® is that it can be added to any beverage – water, juice or iced tea. This FDA-approved product is made with all natural ingredients that work for you while you are at work! From helping your body absorb those essential vitamins and nutrients from the smoothie’s ingredients, to eliminating more waste from your system, Willard Water® is a great addition to your busy routine.
There are three varieties of Dr. Willard’s Concentrates to consider purchasing:
- Dr. Willard’s Water® CLEAR™ Concentrate – A formula with double the dose of the micelle catalyst (as compared to the DARK Concentrate), which promotes detoxification and nutrient absorption. Nineteen trace minerals (iron, manganese, copper, iodine, zinc, calcium, potassium, selenium, etc) are present, which help to develop strong bones and teeth, increase energy and serve as an antioxidant.
- Dr. Willard’s Water® DARK Concentrate – A formula with a high concentration of fossilized organics, which contain trace minerals, amino acids, activated carbon, etc., but half the patented catalyst, as compared to the CLEAR™ Concentrate.
- Dr. Willard’s Water® ULTIMATE Concentrate – A formula most recommended to improve the absorbability and assimilation of nutrients and detoxification, which has high amounts of the catalyst as well as the trace minerals.
Exercising at Your Desk
Rushing home to make dinner, feed the family and put the children to sleep doesn’t leave a lot of time for mothers to hit the gym. However, there is no excuse for not exercising with these easy moves you can do right at your desk!
Hand/ Finger Stretch
Stretching is important to promote flexibility, and those that spend all day typing on a computer need to stretch their hands with this easy exercise. Simply make a fist, and squeeze it tightly for up to five seconds. Release and stretch your fingers, repeating this movement up to 10 times per hand.
To prevent neck and shoulder tension, sit up tall and hold onto the sides of your chair. Pull the chair as if you’re trying to lift it, yet remain seated. Pull for up to 10 seconds and then release, repeating this up to 10 times.
With all Mom’s are accomplishing and doing, don’t forget to take care of yourself! Here’s to a wonderful 2017!
