Cover Up

Take a Nap!

Did you know that 10AM to 2PM is the most dangerous time to be outside in the sun? This is because the sun’s rays are the strongest during this period, leading to higher chances of getting sunburn.

Instead of going outside, take a nap during this time. Not only will it keep you inside, it will recharge you for the evening!

Always use Sunscreen!

Make sunscreen a part of your daily routine all year long, especially in the summer. The sun’s rays coupled with winds typical at beaches lead to damaging and often severe sunburns.

Don’t just grab any sunblock, but research what you put on your body, remembering that your skin is your body’s largest organ.

WebMD explains that many conventional sunblocks contain ingredients that while approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), can actually hurt your skin and health. Harmful ingredients in many sunblocks may include:

  • Tetinyl Palmitate
  • Oxybenzone
  • Nanoparticles

Instead, choose sunblocks that contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, mineral varieties that don’t penetrate your skin with harmful toxins, but stay on top of your skin via a thick layer to provide an adequate amount of protection.
